Public Health Notice on Swine Flu

Chemicals Are Absorbed Through the Skin

Following my bout with diseased cells I have created a list of known carcinogens and chemicals common in every-day personal and home care. Although it's impossible to escape chemicals in the environment entirely I've learned to take precautions. Make a list of chemicals and take a look at ingredients in products and decide if you want to use toothpaste, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, lipstick, lip balm, make-up, and cleaning products that have these chemicals. I prefer not to have chemicals absorbed through my skin directly into my cells and blood. For cleaning I use white vinegar in water, baking soda, lemon, hydrogen peroxide in water to sterilize. Have you tried Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap? It's a complete body wash and a drop on a toothbrush cleans the teeth. I use Ivory white bar soap as well. Hydrogen peroxide is a great astringent and mouthwash. Baking soda and apple cider vinegar cleans the hair. I haven't tried making my own lotion yet so we use Jason's. I also use a shower filter and drinking water filter.

Shampoo-free Hair

Over the last six months or so I was recommended by a friend to try a hair-washing alternative. I didn't do it right and decided it wasn't for me. However, I read more on the no-poo alternative and this is the recipe I've used for the last couple months: 1 T baking soda in two cups of hot water rubbing the scalp followed by 1 T apple cider vinegar (and a drop or two of essential oil if desired) in two cups of hot water as a rinse. I also brush 100 strokes daily and 15 minutes prior to hair washing. I've been off chemical-laden shampoos since February '07. However, the natural alternatives are expensive and I've enjoyed this thrifty, natural method. My hair is clean, thick and soft.

A pet peeve of mine is not getting an answer to a personal e-mail or phone call.
Another is smelling smoke, especially at farmers market.
Listening to (cell) phone conversations, especially in a public place like transportation, museum or a restaurant. How would you like me to read out loud and disturb you for a change?
Trash collection containers left in front of homes as if it adds to the beauty or something.
People who unnecessarily block the entrances to public transportation when they could be seated or standing in another area.

Joseph Smith, History of the Church, Volume VI, p. 308-311, “King Follett Discourse,” March 9, 1844.
“The mind of man is as immortal as God himself. I know that my testimony is true; hence, when I talk to these mourners, what have they lost? Their friends and relatives are separated from their bodies for only a short season; their spirits existed coequal with God, and they now exist in a place where they converse together, the same as we do on the earth. Is it logic to say that a spirit is immortal and yet has a beginning? Because if a spirit has a beginning, it will have an end. That is good logic. I want to reason further on the spirit of man, for I am dwelling on the spirit and body of man--on the subject of the dead. I take my ring from my finger and liken it unto the mind of man, the immortal spirit, because it has no beginning. Suppose I cut it in two; as the Lord lives, because it has a beginning, it would have an end. All the fools and learned and wise men from the beginning of creation who say that man had a beginning prove that he must have an end. If that were so, the doctrine of annihilation would be true. But if I am right, I might with boldness proclaim from the house tops that God never did have power to create the spirit of man at all. God himself could not create himself. Intelligence exists upon a self-existent principle; it is a spirit from age to age, and there is no creation about it. Moreover, all the spirits that God ever sent into the world are susceptible to enlargement.”

After 26 Years of Marriage We've Never Flown Together

I didn't realize it until a year ago when speaking with someone that my husband and I have never flown together after knowing each other 27 years. As soon as we do I'll be sure to post the news.

The 49-State Club

I traveled with my mother and younger sister through all contiguous 48 states when I was 13 and in May 2008 visited the 49th state in the Union, my 49th state to visit during their 49th anniversary, as well as Victoria, B.C. After I've been to Hawaii I plan to create a blog club for people to post who have also been to every state. Hawaii celebrates their 50th anniversary January 3, 2009. Hawaii or bust!

The History of Joseph Smith Archive

The Revised and Enhanced History of Joseph Smith by His Mother.
Lucy Mack Smith is one of my heroes in every sense of the word. She has preserved a priceless record of her son, Joseph Smith, Prophet of the Restoration.

Hot pepper/garlic cure for cancer

The author Kelley Eidem wrote a book called The Doctor Who Cures Cancer and developed this recipe for his own stage 4 cancer 10 years ago. The hub answers endless questions by the author himself.

The basic recipe is given at the beginning of the hub. I've tried it and it's hot, meant to be hot, and is doable to cure cancer.
An August 2009 post from his Hub page:
There is a man who lived in the middle east who had a small stomach cancer. He was reluctant to try my recipe. He only started on my recipe because he was in so much pain. The recipe relieved his pain rather than making it worse. He did it for one week and then reported for surgery. His cancer was gone. Here is what I did: (1) Grate one habaneros pepper each day, putting it on bread (2) Grate two cloves of garlic each day, putting them on bread (3) 1-2 Tablespoons of Emulsified cod liver oil each day.* TwinLabs makes some wonderfully flavored cod liver oil. *I used the cod liver oil because I was not losing any weight or dealing with fluid retention. If I had either of those conditions, I would have used evening primrose oil instead of the emulsified cod liver oil. (4)Smother the grated garlic and habaneros peppers with real butter and eat it. No margarines of any type, including Smart Balance, etc. That's it! ------------- Since then, I've modified the recipe. IF I weren't losing weight from my illness, I would replace the butter with organic yogurt. I might test the two different oils if there is pain by first taking the one I thought would relieve my pain. If my pain lessened, I'd stay with it. If my pain worsened, I'd immediately take the other oil. Finally, I'd monitor my urine pH four times a day (8 am, 1 pm, 5 pm, 9 pm.) and keep tracking it. The balance point for the pH is 6.2 pH. In the morning, my pH s/b below 6.2 and in the evening it s/b above 6.2. Basically, half the readings should be below and half above, except for those readings that at at the balance point. Please keep me informed about your father's progress. The best to you. Kelley Eidem Together we can cure cancer - one person at a time!

http://www.miraclemineral.org/ will teach about MMS and how to use it and for what illnesses. Buy from me at www.mmsmiracle.com/ciaobella. Discussion at http://www.healthsalon.org/. Do the cleanse to kill pathogens in the body and then use a maintenance dose. A $20 bottle lasts about two years. MMS boosts the immune system and does no harm to good bacteria in the body.
