I'm On Jasmine's Blog

"We often times ride the same train home from work. Each time I see her there is some form of flare that makes her ensemble cheery and thirty – fitting for her disposition." (Note: flair and flirty maybe?)

Summer Solstice 10:16 a.m.

I don't think I ever enjoyed summer so much as when I moved from the thick and depressing summer fog of the city to the East Bay where we have four seasons. Today marks the first day of summer. I swim almost daily, attend a couple free outdoor concerts a week and soon weekly free outdoor movies begin. I keep the house cool by keeping the sun out with shades, blinds and curtains, then when it's cooler outside than in I open the windows and blow in cooler air. We have two attic fans and multiple ceiling fans which work great. Weather is right on schedule: hot and the first spare-the-air day.

It's Very Marilyny

That's a compliment from Marty at work about my new short hair, curled in rollers and brushed out the second day after I've loosened up the tight curls by sleeping on it. She really liked the way it looked full and loosely curly and was very complimentary. I continue to get compliments on my hair. The color is natural, silvery, and I often put a flower from Hawaii behind my right ear.

Hammocks Are So Comfy

Also, no danger of falling out.

Third Annual Family Reunion June 11, 2011, 11 a.m.

Seventeen of us joined together to have a picnic around my mother's birthday which is June 13. I really enjoyed myself and I think everyone who was able to come did too. Three of Mother's children were there along with their children and grandchildren. I've already sent out invitations for next year's reunion for June 9.

21 Years as a City Employee

May 22, 1990, I began working for the City, As-Needed status. I just passed my 21st anniversary. April 7, 2012, will be my 20th anniversary beginning part-time as class 1424 five hours for State and Federal Funded Projects and soon six hours at a middle school. I became permanent a year later on April 30, 1993, and when I began with City Planning in 2000 I promoted to class 1426. I worked there four years and due to lack of funding was transferred to County Adult Assistance Program in 2004. I became a unit clerk July 2, 2007, when my coworker retired. I've eaten more good food here than at any other job ever. Note to self: celebrate the 20th anniversary as a clerk typist next April.

Adam's BYU Graduation April 22, 2011

Paul, Barbara, David, Rebecca, Adam, Stephanie, Olie. This photo was captured by our family friends the McMillans, there for their daughter Lindsey's graduation. We bumped into them in that crowd of some 22,000 people. I was so excited to see them I screamed. Congratulations Adam.
