Blood moon, super moon, lunar eclipse

Yesterday I went to Overlook in Walnut Creek and anxiously awaited the big event. Cloud cover prevented seeing the moon before dark and until it had risen above the cloud cover and all at once there it was. Beautiful, red and gorgeous. And someone knew how to turn out the grounds lights for great viewing. It was magnificent. I was invited to share a small blanket with a couple, Mark and
Emily, and share the experience together and visit. It looked much better than this picture but this is how it showed up.
This looks more like it with a good camera.

We can't go on meeting like this

Thank you Adam for inviting me to breakfast this morning. What a lovely way to start the day, enjoying my oldest son over great food at Dottie's True Blue Cafe. You could easily share a plate here.

A day in the life

This all happened around noon outside. I was told, "Stay sweet" after asking if a San Francisco guide got paid. Then I saw my favorite streetcar, 1061, at the 8th/Market intersection. Once at Alioto Plaza I heard a great pick-up line: Are you a model? That made me laugh. Then I was told, "I love you." Ha! I did some electric slide to the Saddlecats and noticed a bride all alone in front of City Hall on the sidewalk so eventually went over to see if she was alright. I've never seen a bride alone. I helped people find their way who were studying maps or their phones. I finished off at farmers market with yams, long beans, bok choy and onions. I couldn't find any beet tops. I came back to find chicken noodle soup, vegetables and rice waiting for me. That all helped assuage my soul after an altercation. Life is good. I am worthwhile. I'm a good person.

There's a first time for everything.

Swimming in the Atlantic and other fun stuff

Rick, DMM and me in the warm Atlantic. I didn't even have to get used to it.

At Goodfellas on S.I.

Gramma with the oldest and the youngest grandchildren, DMM and EMM. I especially loved morning walks with DMM after moving to the new flat. Sometimes we got to walk his dad to the bus stop, then continue our long walks and exploring the new 'hood. Our lovely find was fallen apples at a church apple orchard. I made two apple crisps, apple pie and apple sauce we all enjoyed after wonderful meals together. I made corn bread, pancakes, and waffles twice. We made made some of her signature dinners like one-pot spaghetti and she made her award-winning one-pan lasagna, a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. We celebrated Labor Day under shade trees at the orchard and ate delicious chicken-salad and grape sandwiches on a blanket and played with DMM. It was a wonderful two-week vacation packing, playing and being part of my daughter's family again. I love you all.

Here's the scarlet oak in late October and the hot rod across the street. We all wanted to sit on the side of the table to look out the window. Beautiful picture.
