When we first moved to Concord in 2000 we attended this chapel, dedicated November 13, 1955, and built by members still in the ward and attended by members who'd grown up going to church there. Then in January 2003 Concord 1st and 3rd wards merged and we moved to Denkinger sharing the building with two Walnut Creek Stake wards. This weekend changes us back to a beautifully remodeled Concord chapel and Family History Center. Excitement is running high and a morning open house with me helping with guided tours as a ward missionary and 4 p.m. chapel history summary by our stake president, combined ward choir, and talk and dedication by Elder Robert Packer is Saturday. Services begin October 30 at 10 a.m. That's quite a birthday president for Stake President Score. We will share the building with Oak Grove Third Ward of the Tonga Stake. I have many fond memories attending with my family. Things change. I'll be alone. I'm thrilled to be returning to this lovely building. It's 1-1/2 miles from home, within walking distance.
