San Francisco Giants Win National League Pennant
On Saturday, the San Francisco Giants defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 3-2 and clinched the National League pennant. The Giants will be playing the Texas Rangers in the World Series starting on Wednesday in San Francisco.
The Giants scored 2 runs in the 3rd inning and 1 run in the 8th for a total of 3 runs on 13 hits and no errors. Jaun Uribe hit a homerun in the 8th inning for the Giants. The Phillies scored 2 runs in the 1st inning and ended up with 2 runs on 8 hits and 1 error.
Left-hander Jonathan Sanchez was the starting pitcher for the Giants. He pitched 2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs on 2 hits. Brian Wilson finished the game for the Giants.
