Oh what a wonderful morning!

The John Muir birthday/Earth Day celebration is such a wonderful event in Martinez. The only thing missing was a grandchild or two or three or four. I stayed a couple of hours and saw the opening procession of rangers and bagpipe players and walked through all the booths and displays for info and freebies. I said Happy Birthday to John Muir, a park ranger with a Scottish brogue. Entertainment at 10:30 was bagpipes, drums and a wonderful highlands dancer. I ate my lunch going back to the wonderful Eurasian eagle-owl. She is lovely! California poppies and spring is everywhere. How fortunate the rains came yesterday and today is luscious. National Parks are celebrating 100 years.
